Congratulations to USA Under-19 team for winning the Americas World Cup Qualifying series

The accomplishment of the USA U-19 at the recently concluded Americas World Cup qualifiers in Toronto, Canada is undoubtedly the envy of every nation that participated in the tournament. Pouring rain may have washed out a day’s play but team USA stood head and shoulders above the competition undefeated in the tournament. The wins were never a struggle for this bunch of youngsters; they simply wiped the competition out. Stellar performances from Akeem Dodson, Abhemanyu Rajp, Anil Deopersaud, Dunae Nathaniel, Hemant Punoo, Ravi Timbawala and Sumon Bari highlighted the depth of junior cricket in USA.

The win qualifies the United States U-19 to qualify for the World Cup U-19 Cricket Tournament to be held in Sri Lanka early next year. On behalf of the cricket playing public of this country we would like to express our appreciation to the team. Special thanks to Mr. Larry Gomes who came in as the Coach and helped the team. His guidance and insight into Canadian conditions no double helped the team.
